"The teachers are wonderful. They make personal connections and create a real community among their classes. My kids feel just as seen and heard as if they were in a traditional school setting. The 279Online staff is striving to fulfill the mission of our district and doing it with intentionality around equality and inclusion. I hear it in the language used and see it in the practices and expectations of the classes. (And it is a fun bonus that I get to witness all this happening! I wouldn’t be able to do that if they were in a school building.)
My students are growing academically, utilizing technology, and being validated in their personhood in the comfort of our home. I am at home, but my role is basically the same as if my kids weren’t!"
