"Take Off with School Breakfast" during National School Breakfast Week

The phrase breakfast is the most important meal of the day is not overlooked at Osseo Area Schools. National School Breakfast Week is March 7-11, and Nutrition Services is getting ready to celebrate the importance of a nutritious school breakfast.

The National School Nutrition Association selected the theme “Take Off with School Breakfast” to remind students, families and stakeholders that a healthy breakfast ensures student success. Studies show that students who eat breakfast are more likely to reach higher levels of achievement in academics, perform better on tests, attain better memory, and be more alert.

“Students should participate in National School Breakfast Week because breakfast prepares them for the day ahead. In addition, breakfast at Osseo Area Schools is fabulous. If that’s not enough, students have the opportunity to win great prizes for participating,” said Jeff Ansorge, director of food and nutrition services.

For the 2021-22 school year, Osseo Area Schools has been able to provide breakfast to all students at no cost. To celebrate, schools will be giving out golden tickets for students to win prizes. The prizes and giveaways will include bookmarks, gift cards, tablets, and airpods.
