279Online scholars compete in Advisory Challenge

279Online scholars compete in Advisory Challenge
Middle and high school scholars at 279Online celebrated the end of trimester one with an Advisory Challenge.

The Advisory Challenge was announced with a fun kickoff video featuring Ollie the Otter. During five minutes of advisory each day, classes had different timed challenges to complete. Points were awarded based on how quickly classes were able to complete the challenges or how many tasks they completed in the five minute window. The challenges included games such as Ten Count, Color Craze, Five Thing, and Stick Puzzles.

Students in Keith Rishavy and Kiera Kisic’s advisory classes came out on top with a first place win. Ternesha Burroughs, Fletcher Hotz and Jessica Stewart’s advisory classes placed second, with Kathryn Flam and Joshua Neurer’s advisory classes placing third.

The winning middle and high school advisory classes gathered to celebrate with a pizza party, games and prizes. At the celebration, students competed in cutthroat games of Uno, Catan, Apples to Apples and Jenga. Students got to hang out with not only each other, but their advisory teachers as well.
